A New Trend

It's Robbie again. I'm wondering if this is a new trend to have Mom create a post from info she gave me.
She says to read Ether 12:41.
She is getting transferred to Granada Hills area (she called it the valley) tomorrow and will become a STL or Sister Training Leader. She and her companion, Hermana Hopkins, will be over 10 sisters to go on exchanges with twice a week. She will continue to have a car. She's very excited about the change.
Yajairah and her Dad get baptized this Saturday. Carmen has permission to attend (even though she'll be in a different area) and they asked her to give a prayer which she is really happy about.
These are her words:
"What's great about my life is that I love this branch and I am going to miss the families here. Some of the families that I didn't know well at 12 weeks, now at 24 they're my favorite. It just goes to show that 1st impressions aren't worth beans, and everyone is worth getting to know.
I love you so much too! Have a happy week!
Love,
Carmen"

She didn't send an email this week!

Hi, it's Robbie!
Carmen didn't send an email specific to the blog this week so I'm going to make one up. Don't worry I'll be sure that she remembers next time.
She says it's flooding in the rural areas but not in town where she is at. They did a service project to clean out a ditch and the sisters worked the hardest because they were the dirtiest (obviously).
Hermana Arenas made Caldo which is basically a soup with vegetable cut up and chicken legs thrown in and then you add your own spices.
They made a cake for Valentine's Day which they broke in half and ate! So fitting for misioneras!
She got a bike this week and is anticipating transfers next week so if you send anything, please send it to the mission office address.
That's all I can piece together from her emails to me (along with the photos she sent so I'm posting those!) She loves everybody and is having a great time!

Confie el Senor

Dear Friend and Family,

Thanks for all you do to love and support me! I really appreciate all of the prayers and letters.

I've been studying honesty because Helaman 2:6-9 really intrigued me. Why was it good for the servant to be deceitful? I still don't have an answer. The best I can come up with is strict counsel not to deceive in any way in modern revelation. Still, I've made a list of righteous men who deceived for good reasons in the scriptures, and if any of you have any insights, they'd be welcome.
1. Servant of Helaman, Hel. 2:6-9
2. Laman, Alma 55:4-14
3. Nephi, 1 Nephi 4:19-27 notice I have no interest in why it was okay to kill Laban.
4. Abinadi, Mosiah 12:1
5. Gideon, Judges 7:16-21

This week has been full of miracles!

Last Sunday, I gave a card to a woman and pretty much immediately asked if she'd be interested in us coming to share the restored gospel. To my great surprise, she said yes. To my greater surprise, she kept the appointment and her 2 high school daughters came as well. This is a rare and special treat, and I look forward to seeing them progress.

At knock out, we were about to climb some stairs when I said, "Hey, want to go talk to smoking guy?" So we went to talk to the man who was smoking across the street. That's how we found David, who read everything we left him and has been praying every night. We haven't been able to meet again yet, but he's so sincere we can hardly believe it.

We have been looking for a 13 year old who got baptized last October since last October. We finally FINALLY found her, and you won't believe how. She walked into Panda Express while we were eating dinner that a member had bought for us. We got her address, and we can finally help her through all of the new member lessons.

Pedro, who many of you will remember from my earlier emails, has been rather tough to find at home, but yesterday his wife told us that she's been reading bits and pieces of the pamphlets(HUGE progress all on her own), and she accepted a return appointment for Wednesday!

Also, last night we gave our potential elder friend every opportunity to turn us away, and instead he said he should come back to church and committed to go! That's the Holy Ghost at work!

Love you all! Have a good week!

Algo Breve

Dear Friends and Family,

Where has all of the time gone? I'm so sorry I didn't leave myself more time to write this letter.

The good news:

Yessenia is listening to the Book of Mormon, and she's already through Alma 5!

The Patricios have started the divorce process, so they can get baptized in 3-6 months!

We found 2 new Spanish speaking investigators yesterday, which has been such the struggle.

We finally visited Pedro and set a return appointment!

A piece of advice from Sister Henrie:

Always remember who you represent.
Always remember what He did for you.

The more often we remember, the happier we are! I promise!

Love you all!

They prayed for the ice cream truck to come and it did!
